Thank you for reading my blog!   As you can tell, it’s still in its infancy, but it’s growing.  As a “Thank You!” to all of my readers and followers, I’m offering a giveaway which begins tonight right now!  It’s a small giveaway this time, but I’m working with a few potential sponsors to offer a larger giveaway next month!   Think Tupperware and Freeze-dried food storage.

Without further ado, here are the details.  I’m giving away four items to one winner!  These items will help you start or build your food storage and 72 hour emergency survival kits (bug out bags).  The items are:

Giveaway!

My first giveaway prize!

  9. This week to prepare I am removing old foods out of my 72 hr car kit and replacing with fresh items. I do this every 6 months. My kids love it because they get to eat all the goodies from the old bags. I have things like granola bars, pudding, M&Ms, trail mix and other things. Don’t forget a sweet treat when you pack yours, comfort food is a must for emergencies. And some paper and pencils or crayons to keep the kids busy is always good.

  10. I have started buying a few items each time I go to the grocery store. Mostly dried beans, chicken broth, spaghetti, and spaghetti sauce. I am running out of room, though, and need to start rotating into my daily use.

  15. I liked both Facebook pages, I follow your blog already and I liked this post an am following your husbands blog.. I think I have our bug out bags pretty well stocked except I could really use some Meat and Fruit! I’m also needing to get a better water storage/Purification system. The only thing really stopping us are the funds so we’re doing what we can do which I suppose is better than nothing. Thank you for this opportunity!♥

  21. Commented on Food Storage: Free and Super Cheap. I must say, you have a creative way of creating traffic and sending people back to look at other posts for extra entries. I’ve never seen that before. Kudos to thinking outside the box. 🙂 May I also suggest (for future contests) that you offer entries for sharing your post via FB and Twitter. That will really bring in some new people, and it’s so simple to do that for most people that they do it just because it’s easy and it helps gets your name and site out there more.

I prepare for emergencies with food storage and water of course but I also make sure I have plenty of extras like flash lights and batteries and back up hygiene products especially the feminine type. My food storage consists of favorites but I love your blog because I am getting great ideas like that dried egg shannanigans you made those delicious brownies with.

  29. Love your blog Laurie and I’ve been collecting, storing and rotating food, water for almost a year now. I’ve got my emergency bags made up, even for my dog (can’t forget your four-legged friends). I’m currently working on my homemade personal care items like deodrorant, shampoo, hair conditioner, toothpaste, mouthwash, burn salve, antibiotic healing salve etc. Learning practical skills if an emergency situation occurs; bartering one’s skills for services needed is a plus in my book.

  34. The cheese looks interesting…I continue to work on short term storage. We have “grab and go” 72-hour kits (which need updating) and a list of additional items, like camping equipment, that would be very convenient to have. We have a generator and gas, firewood, and water storage for 2-weeks, drinking only. We would be smelly, but hydrated.
