Let me begin with a shout-out to my very best childhood friend, Karyn, who reads this blog and taught me this song:  “Beans, beans, the magical fruit…”   Do you remember that one?  I taught it to my boys who got a kick out of it and still do!  They still sing it even though they’re all old now, that funny little song about a food I love.

  1. Applesauce, apple butter, peaches….etc. These would all be good to know how they compare to store bought.

  2. This is a great idea and would be very helpful Laurie! Especially for those of us who live on a budget and think every cent counts!
    What would be interesting to me would be various butters (almond, cashew). Jars of them, especially almond, are getting expensive in NY at least…but at the same time I feel the loose nuts are also pretty expensive.
    That got me thinking of almond milk as well…
