My Foray Into Food Storage

In the 1990’s, US News & World Report had a “Rich Test” in the side bar of one of their articles on the richest people in America.  If you answered “Yes” to any of the questions, you are in the 10% (in terms of wealth) of anyone who has ever lived on the Earth.

The questions were:

  • Do you own more than one pair of shoes?
  • Can you choose what you will eat today?
  • Do you have your own mode of transportation?
  • Do you have more than one pair of underwear?

If you answered “Yes,” you are wealthier than the majority of people who have ever lived on the Earth.

I own shoes, therefore, I am wealthy. I own shoes, therefore, I am wealthy.
