Glorious Garden Greens, But Not…

Today, I picked some veggies from my garden.  Beautiful summer squash, some (almost) yellow cherry tomatoes and some radishes.  I’ll have a lovely salad tonight!

  1. We have been chewing down on golden nugget cherry tomatoes for days now and loving it. Yellow squash, zucchini and cucumbers too. Grape tomatoes are just coming in. Everything else soon enough…. Enjoy your salad!

  4. I’ve also grown loads of not green vegetables. Purple potatoes, black kale, purple kohl rabi etc I really like odd things.

  5. I’ve grown potatoes (all blooming), tomatoes, radishes (on my 2nd planting of radishes), salad lettuce, arugula (on my 2nd planting ), cucumbers and zucchini are flowering and coming on fast. I’ve also picked some peas and have cut the tops off my onions for salads.
Laurie you’ve got a wonderful plate of veggies there. Enjoy your harvest we’ve enjoyed ours so far.

    • I planted some garlic. How do you know when it’s ready to harvest?

      • Well, that is a pretty good question. I plant mine between September and October, and according to Oregon State University Extension Service, it is supposed to be ready for harvest at the end of June. I decided to harvest early because they were starting to wilt and giving more water to make it until the end of the month wouldn’t have done much for them.

That probably didn’t help much, but its the best I’ve got!

  7. It’s my second year having a garden. I’ve been enjoying early girl tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, green beans, green onions, and green leaf lettuce. I love growing food to eat . . . I feel so pioneerish (is that a word :-)) and healthy. I love your blog. Thanks for all of the information.

  8. We planted late so I am still nurturing my plants. You can see pictures on my blog of me practically begging the plants to grow. Your harvest looks great.
