I am a happily married, stay at home mom with four sons, ages 24, 22, 18, and 14. I'm not a professional blogger, and I'm certainly not a foodie or a chef. But I like food, so I think I'm qualified to write about my own life experience with food. Want to be a little more prepared for the unexpected? 1. Yay! Mine has buds but none have bloomed yet. I’ve got my fingers crossed nothing goes wrong. lol

  2. In the spring I am going to plant squash, cucs and beans! Right now I have tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries and jalapenos 🙂 Its wonderful to eat the food I have grown myself! ❤

  3. Congrats Laurie! I’ve got Zucchini Squash and Pickling cucumbers and tomatoes coming as well! My potatoes have been taking a beating above ground but it’s what counts underneath that I’m excited about this year. I wish I could send you some of this rain we’ve been having in the Midwest…11.5″ in 10 days. I like rain but this is rediculous!

  4. I grew spaghetti squash last year and it keeps for months since it has a hard outside skin.

  5. Our zucchini isn’t far behind…. Congrats!

  6. Good for you – and I bet you know how to cook it. I’ve officially given up on it after several tries.

  7. Hooray! A “Fourth of July” heirloom tomato was the only thing I managed to get into the ground this spring, but it is thriving. Here’s to successful veggies! – Fawn
